Bring Back Our Bobby!
Not that it needed proving, but we now have had it confirmed – Labour are soft on crime and waging a war on motorists. Despite being in power for 7 years, they meekly play catch up to policies of others, and then miss the point entirely. Last Saturday I launched my 'Bring Back Our Bobby' to the Clock Tower campaign and whilst they too thought it was a good idea, they said – and this is a classic - they would only support the Police Officer at the Clock Tower if he was also used to catch motorists! Incredible. To use a crime fighting person to extend Labour's war on the motorist misses the point entirely – Labour have lost the plot. This proposal is about CRIME, not an extension to attack motorists.
The Conservative will put an additional 906 extra police officers on the streets in Sussex if elected. To tackle muggings, theft, harassment and all the types of things we want to be protected from whilst going about our daily lives. And we do mean real police officers with real powers. Whilst Community Safety Officers’ do a fantastic job and have a role to play, there is no substitute for regular officers with powers to search and arrest criminals and troublemakers. Labour's obsession with hitting out at motorists and not tackling crime is a disgrace that needs to be corrected at the ballot box.
