Brighton Pavilion Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Mike Weatherley was at at Waterhall playing fields on Sunday 28 November to present the Under 15 Brighton Rugby Club team with their new playing kit – paid for by a donation from Brighton Round Table.

Mike, who is currently Brighton Round Table President (and previously also Round Table Sussex Area Chairman in 1997 and on the National Executive as the Forward Planning and Sponsorship Director in 1998) said:  “ I am absolutely delighted that Brighton Round Table were able to help out in buying the new shirts.  Brighton Rugby Club is a community club and is committed to going into schools to teach skills far beyond the sport.  Aiming to develop all types of skills, which are relevant for life, working in a team, responding to coaching and the discipline of learning a sport in a well-managed "professional" environment.”

Brighton Football Club (RFU) was founded 1868 - 69 and is one of the world's oldest rugby clubs.  Brighton Rugby Club is one of the oldest Rugby Clubs in Britain. However the mini and youth section has only been going since 1999.

Mike continues:  “Not many people are aware that this club is one of the oldest in Britain.  My Round Table colleagues and myself are only too pleased to be here to help raise their profile.  Being in the Sussex A league hasn’t been easy for the team, but they are battling away - the team were nominated for team of the month award and presented with an award.  It is all down to the dedication and commitment of the squad.  We all wish the club every success”
