The
“Right to Chose” in education will benefit all pupils and teachers in
Brighton and Hove.
“Conservative’s will put head teachers in control of school budgets, with an extra investment amounting to £15 billion in 2009/10 over and above what Labour has promised. Funds will go directly to school and will not be used to fund private fees. The number of school places expanded by between 550,000 and 600,000. Parents would be able to choose any state school in their area. There will be a new school fund offering up-front cash for schools to grow or for new schools to be set up. Planning rules will be changed to allow more school building. Conservative’s have one message to parents and teachers – we are on your side. Our ambition is to give every child the start in life that today only money can buy. Under Labour, children will be left to fail. Our Right to Choose will raise standards for all.”
