VISIBLE POLICING WORKS!

Mike Weatherley, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Brighton Pavilion, spoke up for the people of the city on the need for more visible policing. At the Conservative Party Spring Forum, held in Mike’s constituency at the Brighton Centre, the rising star shared a platform with Shadow Home Secretary David Davis, highlighting the experiences in the city centre.
After warmly welcoming delegates back to Brighton for the party’s first conference in the resort for 12 years, Mike said:-
“Only 100 yards form this hall is North Street, which used to be called the “epicentre” of crime. Police would receive 128 calls a week to attend incidents. After a permanent police officer was placed at the Clock Tower this went down to just two. Clear evidence, that visible policing works.”
Mike is supporting the bring back our bobby campaign, that is calling for a return for the 24 hour, 365 days a year, police presence at the Clock Tower. More information can be found at www.BringBackOurBobby.org.uk
David Davis responded: “Under Conservatives there will be zero tolerance, and an extra 5,000 police officers on the streets each year. It is not rocket science.”
In his closing speech Conservative Party Leader Michael Howard gave criminals a warning “We are coming to get you.”
